Cars are a massive invention, without them the world would be very different from how it is now.
Cars were first invented in 1886 by Karl Benz but many other people such as Henry Ford had some input as well and changed the way we live our lives forever.
Before cars, people mainly relied on horses or walking for transportation. With the car, people could travel much faster and further distances.
This allowed for businesses to grow and for people to move to new places. Cars also created a whole new industry, the automobile industry.
This industry employs millions of people and has a massive impact on the economy. Cars have also allowed for things such as food delivery, package delivery, and ride sharing to exist. These all would not be possible without the car.
Who invented the car for the first time?
Karl Benz is the inventor of the first gasoline powered car which was patented in 1886.
He did not invent it though, many other people such as Fredrik Ljungström and Etienne Lenoir had a hand in creating this amazing invention. Benz added his name to the patent in 1887, making him the inventor.
He did not do much with his invention though because he could only make it go 6 kilometers per hour. Benz was an automotive pioneer who made many other inventions that are still used today such as anti-knock gasoline and the magneto.
Benz’s early cars did not make it very far though, because of how slow they were. Soon after him, Henry Ford invented the first car that could actually go at a decent speed.
People did not use cars for transportation until many more years later when they became incredibly popular.

The Model T was released in 1908 and could be bought for $850 which is about $20,000 in today’s money.
This one car allowed the average person to be able to buy a car and it completely changed how people lived their lives.
People went from having to go everywhere by foot or by horse to now being able to travel long distances fast without even leaving the comfort of their own homes.
